The Story Behind Rise Again

From Struggle
To Purpose

Transformational Coach, Mindfulness Teacher & Founder of Shantisom

Kezia Kaur — Founder of Rise Again

"Our greatest struggles can become our greatest strengths."

Kezia Kaur is a transformational coach, mindfulness teacher, meditation guide, and the founder of Shantisom — a sanctuary devoted to healing, resilience, and conscious living. But before any of those titles, she is a mother. And it is from that role — in all its love, fear, exhaustion, and fierce grace — that her most important work was born.

When her youngest son, Nick, was just ten months old, a tragic accident changed the course of their family forever. At fourteen months, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. In the years that followed, Kezia navigated hospital corridors, therapy sessions, educational battles, social exclusion, and the quiet strain that disability places on every relationship in a family's orbit. She watched her eldest son, Michael, grow up faster than any child should. She felt the weight of a marriage tested by grief and exhaustion. She witnessed her own mother carry the layered sorrow of a grandparent — grieving for her grandchild and for her daughter at the same time.

And through all of it, she chose — again and again — to rise.

Now in her 60s, Nick is thirty years old. His courage, humour, and spirit have shaped Kezia's understanding of what it means to live with dignity, resilience, and purpose — regardless of the obstacles life places in your path.

Trained in mindfulness, breathwork, somatic healing, and emotional intelligence, Kezia now works with individuals and families navigating their own extraordinary journeys. Her approach is warm, grounded, and deeply human — built not on theory alone, but on lived truth.

Rise Again is her gift to every parent, sibling, grandparent, caregiver, and person with additional needs who has ever stood at the base of an impossible mountain and wondered whether they had the strength to climb. The answer, Kezia knows with certainty, is yes.
